Bulk Chartering & Shipbroking Services

What is the Bulk Cargo?

Bulk Cargo refers to goods that are not packaged or containerized. These types of goods are typically loaded directly into the cargo holds of transport vehicles such as ships, trucks, or trains.

Bulk cargo is very common in freight transport and includes oversized, extremely heavy items with irregular shapes, such as ores, coal, grains, petroleum, and fertilizers.

Types of Bulk Cargo

In bulk cargo transport, it is generally divided into two main categories:

  • Dry Bulk Cargo: Composed of small particles or grains (collectively known as dry goods). This includes products such as flour, coffee, agricultural products, construction materials, and plastic pellets. These items are typically transported in large quantities.
  • Liquid Bulk Cargo: Includes liquids like water, crude oil, chemicals, gasoline, etc. Most of these types of goods are transported by ships, trains, or specialized tankers to ensure safety during the transportation process.
