OPL LOGISTICS HONORED AS VIETNAM’S OUTSTANDING GREEN ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT ENTERPRISE 2026

13/07/2026

OPL Logistics Joint Stock Company has been honored as “Vietnam’s Outstanding Green Energy & Environment Enterprise 2026” at the World Energy and Environment Forum – Vietnam 2026, organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). The recognition marks a significant milestone in the company’s journey toward green transformation and sustainable logistics development.

As Vietnam accelerates its roadmap toward achieving its Net Zero commitment, green transformation is no longer an option but an essential requirement for businesses. This is especially true for the logistics industry, which plays a vital role in connecting global supply chains and facilitating international trade –  sustainable development has become a key driver of business competitiveness and deeper integration into global value chains.

Against this backdrop, the World Energy and Environment Forum – Vietnam 2026 was held to provide a platform for dialogue among policymakers, industry experts, and the business community on practical solutions to accelerate the energy transition, foster green economic growth, and advance Vietnam’s Net Zero agenda.

A milestone in OPL Logistics’ green transformation journey

Participating in the forum for the first time, OPL Logistics was honored as Vietnam’s Outstanding Green Energy & Environment Enterprise 2026. The award recognizes not only the company’s business achievements but also its long-term commitment to sustainable development, operational innovation, and proactive adaptation to the increasingly demanding requirements of the global marketplace.

As part of the forum, Mr. Kato, Tran Ngoc Khanh – CEO of OPL Logistics, delivered a keynote presentation entitled “business perspectives on goals, challenges, and practical experience in the ESG & Net Zero journey.” Drawing from the company’s experience in managing international supply chains, Mr. Kato shared a compelling perspective: while businesses were once selected primarily based on cost, quality, and speed, today the ability to meet sustainability standards is increasingly becoming the “passport” to accessing international markets and deeply participating in global supply chains.

According to Mr. Kato, international customers are placing greater emphasis on emissions transparency, while financial institutions have incorporated ESG performance into their investment and partnership assessments. This demonstrates that Net Zero is no longer solely an environmental goal but has become a defining factor in business competitiveness in today’s evolving global economy.

Green transformation begins with operational excellence

At OPL Logistics, green transformation is not viewed as a branding exercise or a symbolic commitment. Instead, the company believes that a green initiative is only truly sustainable when it creates measurable economic value while improving operational efficiency. This philosophy lies at the core of OPL’s development strategy: optimizing operations first to build a smarter, leaner, and more environmental responsible logistics system.

“We are not waiting for ideal conditions before embarking on our green transformation journey. A green solution is only truly sustainable when it creates tangible economic value for both the business and its customers. The ultimate goal of Net Zero is not merely achieving emissions targets, but building a leaner, smarter, and more efficient operating model.”Mr. Kato, Tran Ngoc KhanhCEO OPL Logistics

This strategic direction is being translated into action through a series of practical initiatives. OPL Logistics is progressively shifting from in-land transportation to multimodal transportation, strengthening rail connectivity to reduce carbon emissions per unit of cargo transported. At the same time, the company is investing in specialized rail wagons, curtain-sided equipment, and ISO Tank systems for the transportation of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), helping optimize logistics costs on a per-ton basis. In parallel, OPL Logistics is advancing the greening of its logistics infrastructure by piloting rooftop solar power systems at its logistics centers, replacing conventional material-handling equipment with electric alternatives, and exploring the deployment of electric container trucks for short-haul port operations.

Beyond infrastructure investment, OPL Logistics is accelerating digital transformation by optimizing transport routes, minimizing empty mileage, digitalizing documentation, and progressively building a standardized emissions database to support greenhouse gas inventory management in line with international standards. This is considered a crucial foundation for businesses to realize its long-term green logistics development strategy.

Advancing a greener and more sustainable supply chain

Being honored as Vietnam’s Outstanding Green Energy & Environment Enterprise 2026 is not only a recognition of OPL Logistics’ commitment to sustainable development, but also a strong motivation for the company to continue investing in green logistics solutions, technological innovation, and operational excellence.

Committed to a sustainable development strategy, OPL Logistics will continue to collaborate with customers and partners to build greener, smarter, and more efficient supply chains, contributing to enhanced business competitiveness while supporting Vietnam’s jo
